PENNY Hungary’s position regarding the importance of Hungarian eggs
PENNY Hungary has sent the following statement to our editorial office, in response to the statement from the Association of Egg Producers.
We publish the statement without alteration:
“For PENNY Hungary, supporting local producers and farmers is of utmost importance to ensure that as many domestic products as possible are available in our stores. Consequently, we maintain relationships with all Hungarian egg suppliers. Thanks to ongoing negotiations, the majority of our egg selection is currently made up of Hungarian eggs. However, when it comes to price-capped products, it is even more crucial to fully meet the needs of our customers by providing wallet-friendly prices, even if that means including imported goods.
We consider it important to alleviate our customers’ burdens in this difficult economic climate, thus we only enter into agreements that help us achieve this goal. Our current range includes imported eggs in the western region, a special white-shelled type that offers consumers an attractive price point.”
