Vocational training in the paper industry was promoted by Vajda-Papír Kft. on Vocational Training Day in Dunaújváros, a factory visit was organized for young people in the company’s factory in Dunaföldvár to support career choices, the company told MTI.
Attila Vajda, the founding CEO of Hungary’s leading hygiene paper company, highlighted in the announcement that in 2020, Vajda-Papír was the first in the country to receive dual accreditation as a training school for specialist training in paper production and processing, and packaging material production technicians, within the framework of which their cooperation has now been three years with the Dunaújváros With Vocational Training Center.
He added that as a dual partner, their goal is that as many 7-8th graders studying nearby as possible. introduce the specialized training to first-grade students, with which they can acquire competitive and marketable expertise. That’s why they hold an open day every year on the 7th-8th. for first-grade students, their parents, and their teachers, in small groups they guide those interested through the most modern paper factory in Central Europe.
In the announcement, Attila Vajda touched on the fact that the development of technology in the paper industry is also spectacular, and the application of digitalization and artificial intelligence requires constantly changing, up-to-date knowledge. They must design working conditions, career opportunities and training in such a way that it is attractive to talented, creative young people. He explained that, in addition to the basic salary, those undergoing practical training at Vajda-Papír in the new training program will also receive a product package allowance, a hot meal allowance, and a commuting allowance.
Vajda-Papír, which has a dominant market presence in Central and Eastern Europe, the Baltics and Scandinavia, exports its products to more than 30 countries.
Vajda-Papír employs more than 700 employees at the group level and has three factories in Hungary and one in Norway. The 100 percent Hungarian family-owned Vajda-Papír, with an annual production capacity of 140,000 tons, produces 55-60 percent of the domestic demand, and exports 60 percent of the production.
The Hungarian-owned, 25-year-old company’s annual consolidated sales of HUF 105 billion in 2023 exceeded the previous year by 7 percent.
