The post office will deliver food vouchers for pensioners by October 15th

Food vouchers for pensioners will be delivered by the Hungarian Post by October 15.

Hungarian Post Plc. announced on Thursday via MTI that it will deliver the food vouchers to more than 2.3 million pensioners between September 1 and October 15, in ascending order of postal codes.

Delivery, or an attempted delivery, will be made to the address registered with the Pension Payment Directorate of the Hungarian State Treasury. If the recipient or their authorized representative is not at home at the time of delivery, the voucher can be collected from the designated post office within 10 working days.

They also noted that if neither the recipient nor their authorized representative is present at the time of delivery, the item may be handed over to a substitute recipient (such as a spouse) or an indirect representative (such as a designated employee at a care home).

If delivery is unsuccessful, the postal worker will leave a notice in the recipient’s mailbox, indicating the name of the deposit post office (the one closest to the address) and the deadline for collection.

They added that if the entitled recipient does not collect the item within 10 working days from the day following the delivery attempt, the post office will return the voucher shipment to the Hungarian State Treasury after the holding period expires.

After that, the eligible pensioner may request redelivery to their address by contacting the Pension Payment Directorate of the Hungarian State Treasury directly, but no later than November 14 – the statement said.
