The producer price of raw milk increased by 17 percent in a year
According to AKI PÁIR data, the national average producer price of raw milk in Hungary was 182.86 forints/kilogram in October 2024. With an improvement in fat content of 0.16 percentage points and protein content of 0.11 percentage points, and a 4 percent increase in the basic price, the average price of raw milk increased by 6 percent in October 2024 compared to September 2024, and exceeded the average price of the same month of the previous year by 17 percent.

The purchase of raw milk in October 2024 exceeded both the previous month and October 2023 by 3 percent. The export price of raw milk was 226.6 forints/kilogram in October 2024, an increase of 6 percent compared to the previous month and 30 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. The export price was 24 percent higher than the average producer price.

According to AKI PÁIR data, in October 2024, compared to the previous month, the processing sales prices of 2.8 percent fat-containing boxed UHT milk (+5 percent), portioned butter and sour cream (both +3 percent), 1.5 percent fat-containing boxed UHT milk, 2.8 percent fat-containing boxed fresh milk, and Trappist cheese (both +2 percent) increased, while those of fruit yogurt stagnated. According to the Central Statistical Office (KSH), the consumer prices of Trappist cheese (+6 percent), 12 percent fat sour cream (+5 percent), pasteurized 1.5 percent fat boxed ESL milk (+4 percent), 2.8 percent fat boxed UHT milk, 20 percent fat sour cream, portioned butter (both +2 percent), pasteurized 2.8 percent fat boxed ESL milk (+1 percent) increased, while fruit yogurt (–1 percent) decreased in the same comparison.
