Gruppo Tonazzo gives up meat products for a plant-based future
Italy’s iconic meat processor Gruppo Tonazzo has announced that it will stop the manufacturing of all meat-based products by the end of the year. The company will focus on the production of plant-based alternatives instead, under the well-known Kioene brand. This move came after a surge in Kioene sales – a plant-based brand launched in the 1990s, offering 100 products, including chilled and frozen burgers, falafel and sliced vegetable meats from eggplant, broccoli and kale. //
