Nestlé will retain its Health Science business
In an interview on Sunday, Nestlé Chairman Paul Bulcke firmly stated that the company has no plans to sell its Health Science business, which some analysts had previously speculated could be sold in the medium term. Asked by NZZ am Sonntag, Bulcke confirmed: “Of course” they will keep this division, which he called promising and beneficial to society.
The statement came shortly after Nestlé announced the replacement of CEO Mark Schneider, who is stepping down after nearly eight years in the role. He will be replaced by company veteran Laurent Freixe. Schneider’s departure has led some analysts to speculate about the possibility of a sale of the Health Science business, which would have been a positive move for investors, especially in light of the decline in Nestlé shares since May 2023.
However, Bulcke emphasized that Schneider’s departure was not due to the development of stock prices, and that they remain committed to keeping the Health Science business, which represents significant strategic value for the company.
