International tourism has already reached the number of travelers expected for 2020 last year
International tourism closed last year with a 6 percent increase, representing more than 1.4 billion travelers worldwide – the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) announced on Monday in Madrid, stressing that this goal was originally set for 2020.
According to Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary General of the organization, stronger economic growth, more affordable air transport as well as technological change, new tourism business models, and in many cases easier visas have contributed to this result. (MTI)
