German travel agents expect a 10 billion euros loss of revenue
Although the holiday season in Germany could start with the lifting of travel restrictions for European countries, the professional organization of the tourism industry, the DRV is also urging the lifting of restrictions on popular holiday destinations outside Europe as soon as possible.
“Travel alerts” for 26 European countries were removed from the German Foreign Ministry’s website on Monday. The 26 countries include the EU Member States, with the exception of Spain, Sweden and Finland, because these countries still have entry restrictions. In addition to the EU’s partner countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Switzerland have also been removed from the list. At the same time, border controls with neighboring countries have been lifted.
