Food price increase may slow
Usually the year starts with a drop in prices. But the food prices fall lasted only for a week. In the second week of January prices became higher.
According to Éder Tamás, the president of the National Association of Food Industrialists in the past half-year domestic food processors lost about ten billion HUF in income, because due to the the rise in raw material prices they were unable to pass the price increases on costumers, due to the limited consumer power.
