The German economy has not yet reached pre-pandemic levels
Germany’s gross domestic product (GDP) was 0.9 percent lower in the first quarter of this year than in the fourth quarter before the coronavirus pandemic, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) said in a survey published on Wednesday.
The agency confirmed its estimate, released in late April, that GDP grew 0.2 percent in the first quarter from the previous three months. The increase was 3.8 percent from a year earlier, up 1 percentage point from an estimated 3.7 percent in April. (MTI)
