Apple sold the most smartphones in the fourth quarter
South Korea’s Samsung Electronics Co. retained its leading position in the global smartphone market last year, but Apple Inc. topped the list in the fourth quarter – according to the market research firm’s Strategy Analytics.
In the fourth quarter of 2019, 374.5 million smartphones were sold worldwide after the 376.0 million of the fourth quarter of 2018, so there was little change in sales.
Apple sold 70.7 million smartphones in the fourth quarter last year, accounting for 18.9 percent of the market, beating longtime market leader Samsung South Korea. (MTI)
