NAV notifies businesses about the food chain supervision fee declaration
The tax office expects about 70 thousand businesses to file their food chain supervision fee returns, and it is drawing the attention of those affected to the deadline of June 2. The goal is for taxpayers to avoid more severe sanctions, the National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV) told MTI on Friday.
It was announced that taxpayers carrying out activities subject to food chain supervision have had to pay a food chain supervision fee since 2012. Taxpayers who carry out such activities and have a valid FELIR number must submit their ELMDIJ return by June 2 this year.
This is the first year when the return must also be submitted to the NAV. NAV is not only helping those affected by sending a reminder letter, but also by providing the simplest possible way to prepare the return.
The ELMDIJ return can be filed electronically, in the Online Form Filling Application (ONYA). If you still need help, it is worth visiting the NAV website, where technical assistance is available to support the submission of the tax return. The office’s specialists can also help you by phone on the NAV Infoline, 1819 (from abroad +36 (1) 461-1819), or in person at the customer service.
We remind you that by June 2, you must declare not only the food chain supervision fee, but also the corporate tax, the small business tax, and the local business tax. It is worth fulfilling the tax return obligation on time, because a company that submits its tax return late can expect a fine of up to one million forints.
