The big supermarket chains are preparing to online market entry in Hungary
Hungary is lagging behind the neighboring countries in the field of e-commerce in connection with the online shops of the big chains. Among the reasons we can find mainly the Hungarian market size and poor purchasing power, though the chains are preparing to enter the Hungarian online market. For example Tesco launches its online store in Hungary next year.
Ken Towle, Tesco’s international online sales manager told in a recent interview that the chain plans to introduce online shopping in all countries, where Tesco stores are currently operating. The sales manager also mentioned as an example that Tesco has started the operation of webstores in Poland and in the Czech Republic, and soon the online business will operate in Slovakia.
