Big brother is watching (and giving you a coffee) – Video of the day
Today in marketing gimmicks/vending machine innovation: coffee company Douwe Egberts installed a vending machine in Johannesburg's O.R. Tambo International Airport that dispenses coffee when you yawn at it. Facial recognition has been used in vending machines before, in one case to discriminate against pudding-loving small children and in another to target ads at consumers based on age and gender. Below, a video of the Douwe Egberts machine in action.
