Job creation is the top priority
Direct subsidies from the European Agricultural Guidance and Guarantee Fund to producers and the agricultural market in general exceed HUF 425.5 billion. From this HUF 364.3 billion will be used for financing producers directly, while the budget for agricultural market support will be HUF 25.3 billion in 2015. The government transformed the agricultural subsidy system in a way that most of the money will be used in those sectors of agriculture where new jobs can be created. Positive changes from 2015: purchasing and sales cooperatives in the agricultural sector will have to pay no local business tax, there will be HUF 242.4 billion available for rural development and fisheries programmes, beekeepers will receive funding from a HUF 682.5 million budget and there is HUF 1.7 billion earmarked for supporting the fruit for schools programme.
