According to the CEO of MOHU, the initial problems are slowly being solved
MOHU’s redemption system has reached a milestone, as it recently passed the one hundred millionth transaction. According to Zsolt Pethő, the company’s CEO, the problems that appeared after the system was launched are gradually being solved, and 5 million redemptions are made every day, according to a recent Telex article.
Although the MOHU faced several challenges during its launch, according to Zsolt Pethő, the operation of the system has now stabilized. Problems arising during the use of vending machines, such as the large space requirements of the bottles or occasional malfunctions, are continuously dealt with, even with the involvement of American specialists. The aim is for the returned bottles to be marketed as bottles again and to provide financial benefits to producers by reducing logistics costs.
During redemptions, most consumers choose coupons that can be exchanged for cash or redeemed. In the future, MOHU plans to expand the possibilities of the amounts that can be transferred to charitable purposes, so that the system becomes even more attractive to consumers.
MOHU’s long-term goal is to increase the redemption rate to 90%, which the future super-sorters will help to achieve. The company is committed to operating a sustainable and efficient system that takes environmental aspects into account and satisfies consumer needs, which really contributes to the realization of a circular economy.
