MOHU’s new vending machine suitable for mass redemption is being tested
The test operation of the R1 type return vending machine, manufactured by MOHU and the Norwegian TOMRA, has begun in Pilisvörösvár. The new technology allows plastic bottles and metal beverage cans to be placed into the machine with a bag filling, up to a hundred pieces at a time, which significantly speeds up the return process. The new equipment is located in Lidl’s new store – writes InfoStart.
How does the new automatic system work?
The R1 type vending machine uses bulk-feed technology, so that beverage packaging with a return fee can be poured into the machine with a single movement. The system processes the materials quickly and automatically, which makes return more convenient and efficient. It is important to note that this type of vending machine does not return glass and is significantly more expensive than current systems.
Test period and expected results
During the test period, the following will be examined:
The development of redemption turnover,
The workload of store employees,
Disruptions due to improper use.
Customers’ experiences will also be sought in order to assess the efficiency and usability of the new system.
Important information for use
For the machine to function successfully, customers must also pay attention to certain rules:
Only plastic bottles and metal cans can be filled in. Other waste or foreign material may hinder the operation of the machine.
Glass bottles must still be redeemed one by one, as this is not handled by the technology.
