At least 150 billion HUF damage in the Hungarian agriculture
This year's extreme weather caused at least 150 billion HUF damage to the domestic agricultural producers. Currently there is only 4 billion HUF in the compensation fund.
Beside the sector problems, nature also made difficult the situation of the agriculture sector this year, because more than 400 thousand hectares were under water in large part of the growing season. The damages are calculated to reach 200 billion HUF, of which three quarters affects agriculture – said Czerván György, Secretary of the Ministry of Rural Development, on conference in Szeged – reports Origo.
