Seventy percent of the agricultural production is bought by the domestic food industry
Seventy percent of the agricultural production in Hungary is purchased by the Hungarian food industry – Fazekas Sándor Rural Development Minister said on Wednesday in Budapest, at a meeting organized by the Hungarian Chamber of Agriculture, on the occasion of the Agromash Expo exhibition.
The Hungarian food industry’s annual production value is about 2300 billion HUF, while agriculture’s annual production value is about 1,800 billion HUF – the Minister informed.
The Hungarian food industry’s production between 2000 and 2010 approximately declined by 20 percent and domestic sales during this time decreased by about 36 percent. However, food production in 2011 increased by 2.3 percent and exports increased by 8.2 percent – added Fazekas Sándor. (MTI)
