The value of agricultural output is expected to increase by around 6 percent in 2025

According to the results of the MSZR’s first forecast, the value of the total output of agriculture in 2025 at current basic prices exceeded the 2024 level by 6.2 percent. Production costs increased by 3.6 percent overall, as a result of which the gross added value increased by 10.8 percent, while the net entrepreneurial income from agricultural activity increased by 21.1 percent in 2025 compared to the result in 2024.

According to preliminary data, the total gross output of agriculture in 2025 exceeded HUF 4.4 thousand billion. After the 5.4 percent decrease in 2024, it began to increase again, so the value of the output reached and even exceeded the 2023 level.

According to the forecast, the rate of growth in 2025 will be more than 6 percent

The volume of output of plant products will decrease by 8.7 percent, while the volume of production of animals and animal products will increase by 2.5 percent based on preliminary data. The producer price level of crop and horticultural products increased by 14 percent, and that of live animals and animal products by 7.6 percent in 2025. Taking into account changes in the volume of production, the development of prices, and subsidies linked to production, the value of output of plant growing and horticultural products increased by 4.1 percent at current basic prices, and the value of output of animals and animal products increased by 10.2 percent.
