The damage in agriculture is more than 400 billion HUF
The Hungarian agriculture’s loss is more than 400 billion HUF, due to the drought – Tóth István, Secretary of the National Association of Agricultural Co-operatives and Farmers (MOSZ) told MTI on Monday.
He added that the damage caused by drought, was estimated slightly more than 200 billion HUF a month ago, but since then the situation has deteriorated, due to the heat and the lack of rainfall.
According to the expert, only half of the expected 8 million tons of maize can be harvested in the country, which is a 200 billion HUF revenue loss for the farmers. (MTI)
