MATE is developing its training infrastructure with almost HUF 3 billion
The Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE) will spend almost HUF 3 billion to develop the infrastructure of practical training on its three largest campuses, the institution announced to MTI on Tuesday.
HUF 1 billion of the investment is provided by own funds, the remaining part is provided by MATE and MATE Tanggazdaság Nonprofit Kft. almost HUF 2 billion non-refundable rural development support. On the Szent István Campus and the Biowaste Utilization Center, developments promoting education, research and knowledge dissemination are being planned, the plant and animal science and energy demonstration areas form a system with each other and put into practice what was learned during the theoretical education of the trainings. The other project enables the acquisition and use of the most innovative tools for arable crop cultivation at the Gödöllő, Kaposvár and Keszthely locations of MATE Tanggazdaság Nonprofit Kft., they wrote. According to the announcement, the rector of the institution explained that in the units operating as model farms, the challenges of agriculture and the search for solutions can be presented with the most modern tools currently available. Csaba Gyuricza announced that in the next 5 years, 144 demonstration plant programs will be organized on plant cultivation, animal husbandry, practical plant protection and precision technical knowledge. Based on their calculations, the new technology entering the educational farms improves crop safety and efficiency, and also contributes to more economical operation and the development of the educational economy function.
