5.4 percent rise in income in competitive sector
Gross average income in enterprises with at least 5 employees and in the public sector were down by 5.2 percent in the first month of 2009, compared to January 2008, while net incomes were down by 4 percent. A 5.4 percent rise in gross income took place in the competitive sector. Real income was down by 6.9 percent in the same period. The number of people in employment was 2,687,000 in January 2009. Average gross income for people in full time employment was HUF 194,500. Average net income for all registered employees was HUF 119,800.
