Most of the Hungarians do not plan going on holiday longer than 5 days in a year

According to the National Media Analysis of GfK Hungária and Szonda Ipsos, 76 percent of the Hungarians stated that they did not have any holidays in the past year.

The datas of the fourth quarter of 2008 and the datas of the first quarter of  2009 shows that Hungarians  primarily rest domestically. As a foreign destination, Croatia continues to be the most popular. Seventy-six  percent of the Hungarians did not have any holidays in the past year, 13 percent rested domestically more than 5 days. Three percent spent their holiday in Croatia, in Greece, Italy and Austria, 1-1-1 percent. Elderly people used to travel less. The travel plans of the Hungarians are not very encouraging, because 71 percent of Hungarians do not plan going on  holiday longer than 5 days in the next 12 months. The survey also asked, that how the Hungarians usually arranges their travel. The majority of the travellers goes on holiday, organizing the trip by themselves, only a few turns to travel agencies. Sunbathing and beach going are still the most popular activities. Thirty-six percent of the travellers chose this form of having a rest. Thirty percent spend their spare time with sightseeing, and only 17 percent choose active forms of recreation, like hiking.
