Hungarians’ favorite pizzas: Italian sausage and Hawaiian top the list

Although there is an increasingly wide range of gastronomic options available in Hungary, the passion for pizza remains unbroken. This is also proven by the popularity list compiled based on Pizza Hut’s latest 2024 data, which also revealed which cities order pizza the most.

Not much has changed in Hungarian pizza consumption habits over the years: Italian sausage pizza continues to lead the top list, closely followed by the divisive but still extremely popular Hawaiian pizza. Although the pineapple-ham specialty does not originate from Hawaii, but is the invention of a Canadian Greek restaurant owner and his Chinese chef, it is extremely popular at home and around the world. It is ordered most often in North Budapest.

According to the survey, ham-corn and margarita are also unwaveringly popular among Hungarian consumers.

Giga order: Guns N’ Roses meets pizza delivery man

The largest individual order ever arrived at the Guns N’ Roses concert in Budapest last year, containing a total of 65 pizza boxes and numerous sides. In addition, the largest order placed by a single customer was for 25 boxes, which were delivered from the Pizza Hut on Arany János Street.

Budapest leads the order top list, followed by Debrecen and Győr in second and third place. The data clearly shows that pizza is still one of the most popular fast food in Hungary, and in addition to classic flavors, more unique variations are also constantly gaining popularity.

According to Pizza Hut surveys, the taste of Hungarian pizza fans is stable, and although various gastronomic trends emerge from time to time, the love for pizza does not change.
