A third of Hungarians cannot call a reliable professional in case of a home emergency
A third of Hungarians cannot turn to an established, reliable professional in the event of a technical problem at home or other unexpected repair or installation situation. While almost half of our compatriots (46%) can only call a suitable craftsman for a few specialist areas. More than two-fifths (44%) of those aged 18-69 are most afraid of short circuits and electrical problems, and almost everyone agrees that it is worth taking out home insurance in the event of fire damage, water damage, burst pipes and storm damage – according to a representative research by Europ Assistance.
The survey also points out that the main difficulties are the high cost of repairs, possible emergency surcharges and the slowness of arrival, but many are also afraid of incompetent, shoddy work.
Europ Assistance’s recent comprehensive research examined, among other things, the attitude, preferences and consumer behavior of the Hungarian population regarding home assistance services.
Hungarians are most concerned about power outages and electrical problems
According to the research, nearly half (44%) of Hungarians aged 18-69 are most concerned about power outages and electrical problems. In addition, a third of the population is worried about gas line problems requiring immediate repair, electronic equipment failures beyond the warranty period, or blockages caused by sewage spills. Failure of the entrance lock and breakage of solar panels are much less of a headache, with the former identified as a potential risk by every fourth respondent and the latter by every seventh.
The majority of Hungarians think that it is worth taking out home insurance for fire damage (92%), water damage, burst pipes (90%) and storm damage (88%). Eight out of ten people would take out liability insurance for glass damage, while nearly four-fifths would also take out liability insurance for damage caused to others. Three-quarters of Hungarians would include coverage for sewage spills resulting from blockages in their home insurance, while only 60 percent would include coverage for household equipment failures beyond the warranty period.
