Thirteen percent of the Hungarians interested in organic food
New rationality drives the consumer in the world, drenched with the idea of sustainability. As a result, conservation, sustainability, the concept of solidarity are increasingly appear in trade.
The annual turnover of organic products are around 20-25 billion HUF – estimates Németh Viktor, Executive Director of the Biopont Ltd.. Domestic demand is growing very slowly. Because of the lack of collaboration and integration the farmers producing small quantities with high costs. In Hungary 13 percent of the population interested in organic food, while in Europe the average is 35 percent – states the Nielsen market research company – reports piacesprofit.hu.
