The new generation of Hungarian street food has moved to Dob Street – Introducing Budapest Bites
Enriching the city’s street food palette, the place offers a premium grab’n’go experience for fans of Hungarian cuisine and those who are just getting to know the truly spicy, unforgettable world of flavors. Tucked away on the corner of Síp and Dob utca, the unmistakably characterful Budapest Bites is not a traditional restaurant – this place is for those who don’t want to compromise: those who are in a hurry, but still crave quality, distinctive culinary experiences, and a modern rethinking of Hungarian flavors.
The Budapest Bites team tasted more than 30 types of lángos – in the end, a handwritten page from grandma’s old recipe book provided the inspiration for the final version. It’s not a secret recipe, but the result of a lot of experimentation: because they were looking for the PERFECT lángos recipe. I want guests who come in to take a bite of high-quality Hungarian flavor home with them in their memories.
This is the taste of Budapest: lovably wild, characteristically Hungarian. A novelty for tourists, a nostalgic new wave for locals.
The menu includes the classic cheese and sour cream lángos, goulash soup, several sweet lángos – such as Nutella, apricot jam, or pistachio-raspberry – and their signature dish, the lángos burger. The latter is one of Budapest Bites’ biggest hits: everything we love in a classic burger – or even more – is sandwiched between two small, freshly baked lángos. The menu includes the classic beef version, the juicy pulled pork, but there is also a vegetarian option with grilled goat cheese and fig chutney. “For the meat dishes, we use only carefully raised products from Dembrovszky Farm – this is also part of our commitment to putting quality behind every bite. The lángos burger is both nostalgic and bold – street food with a soul.” – said one of the founders, Rudolf Semsei, owner of the VakVarjú restaurant family.
The interior is just like the menu – nostalgic and cool at the same time, urban and homely. The unique design not only offers a cozy meal, but also a great photo spot.
Budapest Bites is open every day of the week:
Sunday to Thursday from 11:00 to 22:00,
and on Friday and Saturday from 11:00 to 01:00.
Budapest Bites not only invites you to eat, but also offers an experience – a bite of the past, a pinch of the future, and a lot of love that can be felt in the taste of every bite.
