Magyar Posta dissociates itself from the responsibility of checking the contents of “spoofed packages”
Magyar Posta distances itself from responsibility for checking the content of “counterfeit packages”, the company told MTI on Thursday.
It was pointed out that Magyar Posta Zrt. is not an online store, but a delivery service provider, so it does not and cannot have information about the contents of the ordered packages. The control of the contents of the ordered packages is solely the right and responsibility of the customer, who has the option to refuse acceptance.
In order to avoid “fake packages”, the post office continues to recommend consumers ordering from online stores to always make sure when ordering that they are ordering from a reliable online store. And by definition, you shouldn’t pay for a package you didn’t order – emphasized the post office.
