German retail chains are afraid of Hungarian precedent
The German retail chains, fear that other Central and Eastern European countries – following the Hungarian precedent – will also introduce a special tax.
According to the chains; the special tax will result in price increases and leads the German chains to competitive disadvantage – reports the Thursday's edition of German the newspaper Die Welt.
In the Hungarian market, three German business chains will be affected, the Metro (Cash & Carry, through the Media Markt chain), the Rewe (Penny Market) and the Schwarz Group (Lidl) – reports Világgazdaság Online, after Die Welt.
