Hungarian women earn 11 percent less than their male counterparts
For International Women’s Day, Eurostat has published the latest figures on the gender pay gap by country – index reports. The bad news is that in most countries the pay gap for women is still clearly visible, but the good news is that it is gradually decreasing in most countries, including Hungary.
How much do women earn less than men?
As you can see, there is a very wide variation between countries, a leading edge in the negative sense, and almost twenty percent difference between the most equal countries in terms of wages. Interestingly, it is not really possible to find trends by country group or region, and the Gender Equality Index, which measures gender equality, is only partially correlated with pay gap figures.
