The big winners of Hungarian e-commerce are the customers: GLS and DPD have signed a strategic partnership for even more flexible package collection
The domestic logistics sector has reached a significant milestone: GLS Hungary has opened its ATM network to other service providers, and DPD Hungary is the first partner to enter this system. Thanks to this, DPD packages will be available for collection from a significant number of GLS ATMs in the future. This partnership not only serves to increase customer convenience, but also makes parcel pickups more efficient and contributes to sustainably serving the growing needs of e-commerce.
GLS opened its parcel locker network in June 2025, to which DPD will be the first to join, thus continuing the proven cooperation of the two companies in Germany and the Czech Republic on the Hungarian market.
The popularity of parcel lockers is unquestionable: it has doubled since September 2023, and the number of lockers available to customers now exceeds 9,400. The agreement is key to serving the ever-increasing customer needs, as parcels delivered by DPD will be available for collection from more than 1,400 new machines, and from the beginning of 2026, around 3,000 collection points nationwide will facilitate flexible parcel collection for DPD customers.
“For DPD, innovation and sustainable operations go hand in hand. The cooperation with GLS does not only mean network expansion, but also a step towards a more efficient logistics system. Our goal is to create value for both our customers and the market with our developments.”
– said Szabolcs Czifrik, Managing Director of DPD Hungary.
“A few weeks ago, we celebrated the installation of our 2,500th machine, thanks to which we can now deliver parcels in more than 740 settlements With a total of around 3,500 delivery points, we provide the most flexible package management solutions possible. With our current cooperation, our network will become even more sustainable and accessible to more customers.” – said Attila Balázs, CEO of GLS Hungary.
This partnership reinforces the commitment of the two companies to the development of the Hungarian e-commerce market, offering maximum flexibility and sustainable solutions to domestic customers already this Christmas season.
