The focus should be put on quality in the case of Hungarian wheat
The Hungarian wheat-growing industry needs to move toward a specific, high-quality varieties rather than towards quantity – Bedő Zoltán, Diector of the research center of the Agricultural Sciences Research Centre of MTA told on Wednesday in Martonvásár at MTA’s cereal professional presentation.
Bedő Zoltán, said that over the past three years, sixteen of the cereal varieties of Martonvásár have obtained a certification. He added that this does not mean an increase in the number of varieties, because several of the old varieties will be taken out.
About the new varieties he explained that they are trying to bred economically produced breeds with the utmost profit. (MTI)
