In recent months due to the bird flu, the killing of 3 million animals was ordered by the authorities in 230 farms, which means that 3 billion HUF worth stocks had to be destroyed, 80 percent of which were waterfowl – Bognár Lajos Chief veterinarian told M1 news channel on Thursday.
He added that there is an option in the European Union, if animal or plant health problems occur, the Member States can require crisis management support.
