Chocolate maker Lindt & Sprüngli’s profit rose 8 percent last year
The Lindt & Swiss premium chocolate manufacturer Sprüngli AG’s profit last year was 726.7 million francs (1 franc = 425.86 forints), 8 percent higher than in 2024, the company’s website states.
Revenue rose by 8.2 percent to 5.916 billion francs, organic growth was 12.4 percent.
Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) rose by 9.8 percent to 971 million francs, exceeding the average analyst expectation of 969 million francs. The EBIT margin improved to 16.4 percent from 16.2 percent in the previous year.
Organic revenue in Europe increased by 15.3 percent to 2.96 billion francs and in North America by 8.9 percent to 2.18 billion francs. In the rest of the world, revenue rose by 11.7 percent to 780 million francs, including 19.3 percent in China, 18.3 percent in Japan and 19.9 percent in Brazil.
The company’s number of stores increased by 53 to 621 last year.
Lindt raised its annual dividend by 300 francs to 1,800 francs per share.
The company also announced a new share buyback program of 1 billion francs over a maximum of three years. The buyback period starts in June this year and ends no later than May 31, 2029.
