Lidl has increased its support for the Heim Pál Pediatric Institute to around HUF 100 million
For the fourth year in a row, Lidl Hungary supports the Heim Pál Pediatric Institute with food through its foundation: the supermarket chain increased the annual budget for support from HUF 78 million to almost HUF 100 million.
Lidl Hungary informed MTI on Tuesday that as part of its support program – in addition to helping needy Hungarian children and families – it also cares about domestic healthcare, so since 2019 it has been supporting the Heim Pál Pediatric Institute with monthly food donations.
The supermarket chain has so far donated 260 million forints to the children’s hospital. Over the past year, the funds earmarked for support included nearly 11 tons of fresh meat, nearly 6.5 tons of fresh vegetables and fruits, 2.6 tons of cheese, 3,700 baby foods, 5 .2 tons of cold cuts and about 7.5 tons of dry pasta – they wrote.
Donations cover all product groups, and the hospital’s catering manager always decides on their composition, taking into account individual food allergies and sensitivities. In addition to the donation, the supermarket chain also provides regular assistance in the delivery of food, the announcement states.
