Lidl continues the offensive
It is planned, that fifty Lidl stores will be opened in Bulgaria, until February 2011 – reports Bloomberg. According to Milena Dragiiska, Bulgarian leader of the chain; Lidl would like to achieve 3 percent of market share within 3 years in Bulgaria.
The German supermarket chain invests 300 million euros (82 billion HUF) into the Bulgarian market. In Bulgaria, the largest competitor beside the small local stores is the Billa supermarket chain, operated by METRO. Conquering the Bulgarian market will not be an easy task, since 80 percent of retail sales generated by the small stores in Bulgaria – reports penzcentrum.hu.
