Lidl is an official partner of the UEFA Europa League and Conference League
The discount chain Lidl has taken another significant step in the world of international sports events: it has signed a three-year partnership agreement with UEFA, according to which it will become an official partner of the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Conference League. The decision is based on the successful cooperation experienced during the 2024 European Championship, during which Lidl achieved serious results.
According to the German retailer’s statement, the sponsorship of the summer European Championship was an outstanding success for the company. The Lidl Plus app grew with 16 million new users and 91 tons of fruit were distributed to fans at match venues. According to a YouGov survey, Lidl was the most noticed brand partner during the tournament, with more than half of viewers identifying the supermarket chain faster than other sponsors, a 32% increase on the pre-tournament period.
According to the new agreement, Lidl will bear the title of “Fresh fruit partner” in both UEFA series. The company will not only be present with television, stadium and commercial appearances, but will also offer fresh food in the stadiums and organize various events in its own stores. This move further strengthens Lidl’s position in the international market and creates new opportunities to reach consumers through sporting events.
