Lidl supports the Foundation for the Development of the Heim Pál Children’s Hospital
Lidl Hungary has been supporting the Heim Pál Children’s Hospital Development Foundation for six years now, and now the company has decided to extend the support agreement again. Over the past year, the supermarket chain has contributed food donations worth over 100 million forints to help the young patients in the institution recover as soon as possible.
As a responsible and ethical company, Lidl Hungary considers it important to contribute to the support of needy and sick children and their family members with its donation program. As part of this, it has been supporting the quality meals of the young patients in the Heim Pál Pediatric Institute and their accompanying parents for years.
“It is of utmost importance to us to be able to contribute to socially important issues by providing real assistance. Our cooperation with the Heim Pál National Pediatric Institute is a good example of this, as in the past six years we have contributed to the high-quality, varied meals of hospitalized children with a total of more than 450 million forints worth of food donations. We intend to continue this in the future, so we have decided on another food donation worth more than 100 million forints for the next year. All this means that the institution and the young patients can count on Lidl’s support in the future as well,” emphasized Judit Tőzsér, the company’s communications manager. Over the past year, the supermarket chain delivered, among other things, 9 tons of fresh fruit and vegetables, 7 tons of fresh meat, 5 tons of cold cuts and cheese, 17 thousand pieces of yogurt, 11 thousand pieces of baby food and 13 thousand liters of soft drinks and fruit juice to the hospital. The composition of the donations is compiled every month by the hospital’s specialists, taking into account a varied, healthy diet and different diet types.
“In a hospital, every little detail is important: the flavors of home, parental care and healing. That is why it is especially important that children can experience everything here that gives them security and joy. Lidl Hungary has been helping us to make this a reality for six years now. It often happens that we have to provide 39 types of food, from pureed foods to special diets for children with food allergies. This is a huge challenge and it is good to know that we are not alone. Lidl’s food donation, which has been going on for years, is not just support, it is a real alliance for healing. The composition and variety of the fresh, quality and special ingredients they provide significantly influences and improves the chances of healing, nutrition is particularly decisive for the development of children. Thank you for Lidl not only donating, but also believing with us that healing depends not only on medicines, but also on attention, care and a plate of delicious food”
– thanked Norbert Palócz, the head of the children’s hospital Pál Heim is the economic director of the National Institute of Pediatrics.
