Most people do not know the difference between expensive and cheap wines
The majority of wine drinkers do not know the difference between the poor quality cheap wines from the sixfold expensive, high-quality wines – presented researchers.
The experts showed in their study, that most of the consumers kept the well known brand names in mind, when the were looking for special wines. 578 people were involved in the blind tasting sessions at the Edinburgh science festival. The researchers were surprised that the participants could not distinguish between quality and quality on the basis of taste, although there were expensive varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Shiraz or Claret among the tasted wines – writes ProfitLine.hu, after The Daily Telegraph.
