This year, bees can collect less honey from the frozen acacia trees of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county – told the regional adviser of the Hungarian National Beekeeping Association (OMME) on Thursday to MTI.
Kovács Csaba said it is estimated that a 15 to 20 kg average acacia honey production is expected per a bee family, compared to last year's average of 25-30 kilograms.
He added that the minus 20 to 25 degrees of February, and the minus 7 to 11 degrees frost on April 10 caused the largest damages in the acacia forests of the Nyírség and the Bereg region. (MTI)
