Foreigners spent 1201 billion HUF in Hungary
In 2009, the foreign consumption in Hungary was 1201 billion HUF, 10 percent more than in the previous year – informs the Central Statistical Office (KSH).
The 68 percent of this amount (820 billion HUF) relates to tourist consumptions, nearly 340 billion can be connected to transit traffic.
Hungarians spent 772 billion HUF abroad, 6 percent more than a year earlier. Passenger traffic balance, at the end of the period was 429 billion HUF, which is 18 percent more than in 2008.
In 2009, 41 million foreigners visited Hungary, 78 percent of them for one day. The number of visitors increased by 3 percent. Foreigners spent a total of 97 million days in Hungary.
