The minister added that in the call announced within the framework of the Common Agricultural Policy Strategic Plan, a maximum of 50 million forints of support can be requested, with an exceptionally high support intensity of up to 95 percent. Applications can be submitted in the first round between July 2 and 15, and the entire submission period will last until October 28, 2026. He explained that 668 municipalities received support in the 3rd call for the Closed Garden Program, which was previously financed exclusively from domestic sources, between 2017 and 2021, in the amount of approximately 10 billion forints. Due to the popularity of the previous program, the Ministry of Agriculture decided to re-announce the call for proposals within the framework of the CAP Strategic Plan.

The aim of the call is to develop enclosed garden areas and promote their agricultural utilization, to preserve the enclosed garden lifestyle, to strengthen self-sufficiency, and to preserve the values of the rural landscape

With the EU funds, which are accompanied by 80 percent domestic financing, the affected municipalities will have the opportunity to implement developments to improve the accessibility of enclosed gardens and drinking water supply, to ensure electricity supply, and to protect and manage wildlife, while preserving cultural heritage and strengthening community value creation. The government is supporting the development of the rural economy in a complex way, from maintaining the solvency of small and medium-sized farms, through their investments, to the resources provided to rural local governments, as it pays special attention to those local government developments that can simultaneously increase the population retention power of small settlements while preserving local values - István Nagy drew attention.
