The government is also involved in the reconstruction of the cave spa
The government is rushing to the aid of the city of Miskolc and participating in the reconstruction of the cave bath, the Minister of Construction and Transport said on Thursday in Miskolc, after viewing the cave bath in Miskolctapolca, the roof of which burned down at the beginning of September.
János Lázár said that in the next few days a working group will be set up with the technical experts and political decision-makers of the city under county law, with whom they will jointly examine how the “most important goal” can be fulfilled.
He stated
they agree with the mayor of Miskolc: the most important thing is that the cave spa can reopen as soon as possible.
The minister stated that the fire protection investigation and the negotiation with the insurance company are still ongoing.
He pointed out that the damage is enormous not only in the building, but also in tourism to Miskolc, and also affects those who make a living from tourism.
The cave spa has about 300,000 visitors, which means that it was a profitable, well-functioning facility that satisfied the locals and the country, he said.
János Lázár emphasized that the most important thing is that human life was not endangered, but the damage to the building is huge, in the order of billions.
