The government's zero tolerance concerns all GMO products

The government's zero tolerance concerns all GMO products and on this basis the Rural Development Department (VM) will continue to do everything they can to maintain Hungary’s GM-free status – Budai Gyula, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs of the VM said on Thursday at a professional board, held in the Parliament.

He made it clear, that the ministry prevents Hungary from cultivating GM maize. The statement is actual, because the European Union is expected to give permission for the cultivation of the 1507 GM maize soon, and the license is also extended to Hungary, therefore it is essential to carry out clear and honest professional tdiscussions about GMO – Budai Gyula added.
