The conflict reduces the Ukrainian grain crop
The expected 60 million tonnes of grain yield will be less with 500-550 thousand tonnes this year in Ukraine, due to ongoing military operations in the east of the country – said Ihor Svajka the Ukrainian Agricultural Policy and Food Minister. Last year's harvest was 63 million tons.
Ihor Svajka said that 20.5 million tonnes of grain has been harvested, of which 14.2 million tonnes of wheat and 5.9 million of barley.
According to the datas of Ministry, Ukraine exported 1.3 million tons of grain, mostly barley in the first 23 days of July, which is the first month of the new marketing year. (MTI, tozsdeforum.hu)
