Due to the risks, more and more companies are introducing policies for the use of artificial intelligence in the workplace
Assistive services using artificial intelligence (AI) (for example, various chatbots) are also spreading explosively in the workplace. The use of AI in everyday business is a relatively new phenomenon for businesses, and in many cases it can be a challenge to answer the professional and ethical questions associated with the use of AI. An important tool for using AI in a safe and responsible manner is the development of company policies for the use of AI.
A British survey conducted in 2023 showed that company managers are divided on the question of who is responsible for workplace errors that can be traced back to the use of AI. According to a third of the interviewed managers, the employees using the AI tool are the only ones responsible for the mistakes made, while there is a slightly higher proportion of those who think that both the employees and the managers giving instructions to perform the task share the responsibility. Only a quarter of the respondents answered that the responsibility is shared between the manager, the employee and the party providing the MI service.
Also as part of this research, the majority (68%) of the interviewed company managers answered that employees should not use AI without the manager’s permission.
