The first effects of climate change on tourism
Among the travel destinations, the countries along the Mediterranean Sea have so far been in the undisputed leading position. However, there are signs that they are losing their priority – or so we read in an analysis published this morning by the Allgemeine Hotel- und Gastronomie-Zeitung.
Of the 6,000 people surveyed across Europe, however, 10 percent less people plan to travel to the Mediterranean than last year[/ caption]
Despite extreme heat waves and forest fires, vacationers have so far remained loyal to popular Mediterranean destinations. As climate change progresses, this may change, and there are already signs of this.
