The climate change has drawn into the world map of pears
The cultivation of pears fell recently in Hungary due to the repeated failure experiences, therefore the domestic crop runs out quickly. In spite of the fact that crop prices are increasing, the pear is among those special fruit species that in case of improper pruning the yield can drastically decline.
It is estimated that Hungary’s pear production decreased by 18 percent in 2015, compared to 2014 – according to the research of the Agricultural Economic Research Institute. On this basis, the 2015 pear harvest may be around 17-18 thousand tonnes. (by our colleague)
