The preferential, 3 percent interest corporate loan program announced for SMEs has been available for two months now, and its indirect effects are now starting to trickle down to the large corporate segment, which could also have a stimulating effect on the situation of the Hungarian economy.

“There is clearly great interest in the entrepreneurial loan program announced for the SME sector: according to official information, contracts worth more than 100 billion forints had been concluded and loans disbursed by the end of November. However, this is still only a fraction of the volume of applications received by financial institutions. The SME sector therefore has very good opportunities to gain new momentum and set itself on a growth path”

– said Tibor Bodor, the Head of K&H’s large corporate division.

“Although the loan facility is specifically tailored to the needs of SMEs, it will indirectly have a significant impact on the large corporate segment as well. This will be felt most strongly in the quality of the supply chain. This loan will allow smaller companies to cost-effectively develop their equipment and machinery, optimize their operations, and thus operate more stably and better. This will improve the reliability of the supply chain, and there will be fewer delays and payment problems,” the expert added.

“In addition, a turnover recovery is also expected, especially among large industrial, manufacturing and service companies. The preferential loan will improve the liquidity of small companies and allow them to purchase more goods or order more services, “In other words, large companies also indirectly benefit from the package”

– underlined Tibor Bodor.
